Term 1
Pancake Breakfast Flyer
Orchard Flyer
For this flyer we were asked to work in Illusrator to make a flyer for an apple orchard. We had to create our own apple, and use the type on a path tool. I used mostly the pen tool for this assignment, but also tools such as the type on a path tool. I played with different strokes, fonts, and colors to make the flyer. I chose heavier strokes to make the boxes stand out and used shades of green, red, and brown because they are the colors of apples and fall. I chose an orange background for the Halloweeen box so it will stick out and be Halloween-themed. Since it was my first time using the pen tool, I had trouble making the apple, so I traced it. Next time I would like to try making it on my own, and adding more detail. Overall, I am proud of my flyer and think it came out great.
Penny Social
For this project, Mrs. Nassiff came in asking us to create a flyer for a Penny Social her daughter's school would be holding. It had to be fall or harvest themed, easy to read, and appropriate for an elementary school. I used the type on a path tool and the pen tool for this assignment. I also used the different fill colors and the free transform tool for the leaves. I chose to do leaves as my background because they are one of my favorite things in fall. I am pleased with my finished project. I enjoy the simpleness of it and the way everything is easy to read. I believe it works well for an elementary school. However, if I were to redo this project I would choose to have a colored background behind the leaves, but bring down the opacity so everything still sticks out. I would also add a few more smaller leaves around the edges of the page.
